Self portraits by Ahn Sun Mi (get her work here)
Mahatma Ghandi said once: "It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold
and silver." And as much as we all enjoy the luxurious things of life they won't keep us
safe from diseases or even death. You can buy everything in this world... but you can't
buy love, happiness and health!
To live a lively, healthy life has never been that important than it is nowadays.
Informative articles on health wherever you look:
"How to eat clean, stay fit, loose weight or detoxing" pops up on our (TV) screens.
The more the social pressure the more our hopes rise to fit in and the own body falls
by the wayside.
With the self portraits of Korean artist and photographer Ahn Sun Mi I wanna remind
you that, "Your body is a temple. Keep it pure and clean for the soul to reside in."
As long as YOU do what's good for YOUR body and not for someBODY else's, you'll
find your inner piece.
This is wow! I love that Ghandi quote. Health is truly the real wealth and we all strive to have it. Living a healthy lifestyle is a conscious decision that we all have to make, hard as it is sometimes. These images though, I'm blown away, can't stop looking at them. Thanks for this great share Ira, xx.

Love the quote, your so good at matching pictures with the right message, the pictures really speaks for itself, we should really take care of our body and not take it for granted, because when we get old all of our reckless actions will be evident.

We are imperfect yet perfectly created in to our creators eye.
This is an amazing photography motif.

Oh my goodness, you share the BEST pieces of art, Ira! I'm a huge fan of the surrealist movement and these artworks are absolutely surreal and GORGEOUS. I love them! Also, I'm loving the message of this post; doing what's good for your body will definitely make you happier. Have a great August. <3

Ghandhi was very wise indeed. If you don't have your health, it doesn't really matter how much money you have. I dealt with numerous health issues a few years back and now it's the one of the things I value most and try my best to maintain. This artwork is just amazing and so is the message. Hope you're enjoying the weekend Ira!

Wow what stunning photos!
ReplyDeleteAnd I like the last part of your post particularly, do what's good for your body! Everyone has their own needs and wants and how they achieve that is entirely up to them. People would be a lot happier if they concerned themselves with what they wanted/needed and ignored others, no need to compare! :)
