Artwork by Norwegian visual artist Andreas Lie
The only associations I have with Lie's double exposures are: "blending" and the movie "The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo". I love how he played with dark colors and it's such a great portrayal of autumn. Speaking of autumn, how is yours so far?
Mine is quite busy: student duties, shooting ootds with my love, celebrating his and mine birthdays with the families, planning a roadtrip to Berlin for this weekend,to try the best Dim Sum's and Dumpling ever, to see The Blue Man Group live on stage while trying to keep up with Instagram. :) Just two months to go and it's already Christmas - this year has passed by so fast. Wow!
Mine is quite busy: student duties, shooting ootds with my love, celebrating his and mine birthdays with the families, planning a roadtrip to Berlin for this weekend,
Double Exposure has always been a form of art that I absolutely love, the possibilities of creating stunning portraits are endless, and I have a slight affinity for monochrome ones, especially. These ones by Andreas Lie are gorgeous. Splatters of paint, brush strokes, spray paint; they're art in art, and I love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous that you get to go to Berlin to try dimsum! I'm a huuuuggeee fan of dimsum and have been on the hunt with my partner to look for the best (and most affordable) dimsum in town, hahaha, I hope you enjoy, Ira! And ooh, I've been counting down to Christmas, too! I can't wait!
May | THE MAYDEN
I didn't know the first one was a silhouette, very nice pieces. I'm glad these actually look like something, I'm not really impressed by a lot of abstract work just because it looks like something my son can do.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.pixics.com/
Dear May! Double Exposures are my faves too, I love this kind of art where you have to use your mind to come behind the intention of the artists. It feels like it was made just for each of us because everybody has different associations with it. Feels always so refreshing to talk with you about it. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks dear! The dinner table is reserved and I really can't wait to try... Nom, nom! :-DD I already love this restaurant and its dark (romantic) atmosphere. It's so me! Haha!
Thank you soooo much, May! I may repeat myself but you're incredible!!! <3 Hugs!
Have a lovely day!
xoxo
Haha! My son love to paint as well and I always try to collect his artsy work. Glad you like Lie's work though. Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteWow I really love it, i always love double explosure cause the results always looks goregous!

This work is really amazing! Happy belated Birthday, Ira.
ReplyDeleteJasmine ♥
These are wonderful! I wasn't yet familiar with Andreas Lie's work - what did he do for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? That was a great movie, though I do prefer the Swedish version (far more gritty and Noomi Rapace is perfection). Thanks for sharing, Ira, I love the diversity of your posts (lots of art yay)!

yes, this year has certainly passed by like a quick storm:) I absolutely love these paintings...you know I'm an art lover so I do enjoy this....they are so subtle but so powerful!!!!
ReplyDeleteThese days what takes away most of my time is applying for jobs...and as complicated as my job application is (I'm a certified teacher and for some reasons teacher jobs require an astonishing amount of paperwork), but it doesn't get me down as it used to. I always keep myself occupied. Unemployment of the young and (overly?)educated has became a serious problem in the west....but I'm not the type to complain. Life is always a miracle and we shouldn't forget that.
So incredible!

These are so beautiful and artistic, and yes, they certainly are a reminder of the blustery feeling of autumn and its darker side! My autumn has been quite busy but wonderful, it's actually been just over a year since I went througha horrible, difficult breakup, but I've never been happier than I am now :) Aww, I hope you and your love's birthday celebrations were wonderful, it's so sweet that you shoot OOTDs together! I hope you have an awesome time in Berlin! And I KNOW, this year really has gone by in the blink of an eye, I can't believe how it's flown by!
