I think you've recognized my proclivity for controversity already... So it was a matter of course to visit the formerly divided capital of Germany again which represents a lot of contrasts nowadays.
History and Future
Grunge and Luxury
Artists and Politicians
Modern Architecture and Old Monuments... are like veins of this city's heart.
Berlin is throbbing, vibrant, alive!
And down to the steel skeleton of The Wall - inspiring!
'I am proud to come to this city as the guest...'
and leave it as
'Ich bin ein Berliner'.
I love the mix of modern and old architecture. These are lovely photographs, Ira. Will we be seeing The Wall next?

ReplyDeleteThere is a great deal of history in Germany... I am really happy that they are no long divided... I did a project on this country when they were so divided that they could not go back and forth easily... the change has been very good xox
ReplyDeleteI've been to Berlin once and I've still a lot of memories in my mind. You took great photos and caught great places in one of the most complex cities of Europe. I have to go back to better understand it.

Oh my! I can recognize the brandenburg Gate, I believe, if I remember correctly... it was quite some years back! 2005! gosh.
ReplyDeleteBerlin brought back great memories for me and hubby. For us, we were super grateful to be selected to participate in the annual Berlinale Talent Campus, in conjunction with the annual Berlin Film Festival. It was great to meet filmmakers all around the world who share the same passion for the work we do, which is in filmmaking. It was also awesome to know that our work is being recognized, in some ways, internationally!
Believe it or not, a girl from a tropical country like Malaysia travelled with hubby to Berlin, it was also my very FIRST experience with REAL SNOW! For the first time in my life, I got to see snow for real!! Sounds so silly but I was super crazy happy like a silly school gal back then!!
Oh boy, I love the artistic vibe that Berlin oozes and I could somehow feel it in the air, in the people (though not all are generally friendly, I must admit), But overall, I loved that trip so very much and I wish I would have the chance to visit this vibrant city again, that is Berlin!
Thanks for sharing your experience. So loving this. If you are curious, this was my blog posts back then about our trip:
