THE ABSURDITY OF HUMAN NATURE

"Juniper" and "Research"
Did somebody of you watch "Lagerfeld - Confidential"? No? Oh... you should! He is such a lost soul from a psychological point of view.Anyway... after asking about his inspiration and ideas he replied, all the dresses would appear in his dreams even the entire concept right up to the fashion show. Genius right?

I believe it's the same with Mills' paintings. Most of our dreams are concealed but it's the message or an element after all, we remember sometimes - "the absurdity of human nature".

  1. How true... our dreams can say a lot about us and our creativity. .. life and human nature can be very absurd at times... it's a little scary at times too... very interesting thoughts here 😮

  3. It's interesting how things work for those who are creative geniuses. But I do believe that dreams can spark creativity to some extent for everyone and really just it's up to us to act on it. Mills' art is marvelous.

  4. My dear, I have not watched it, but I believe that he is a lost soul from the psychological point of view! I can image that his best ideas appeared in his dreams! I believe in the power of dreams! xxx

  7. What stunning artwork! Oooh, I gotta confess, I haven't watched it but I will definitely check it out, thanks for the recommendation, Ira :) how wonderful to draw inspiration from your dreams! I would love it if that happened to me but I tend to forget my dreams a few minutes after I wake up. Maybe I should get a dream journal? Hope you're having a lovely week, sweetie ♥ xxx

  19. Amazing paintings! I watched "Lagerfeld - Confidential", I can't deny his talent the man is the creative director behind 3 brands however as much as I think he's a creative genius I find him stupid too. He made so many stupid comments and he is very arrogant. He doesn't like fat people but let's not forget that he was fat for a long time. I feel the same way about Kanye West, he is truly good in his art but outside of it, the level is pretty low.

  20. These are amazing, I've been looking at them for a good few minutes now they really draw you in! So interesting how his inspiration came to him in his dreams, it always fascinates me, where inspiration comes from, I suppose, when your sleeping, you might be more receptive to ideas because there's nothing else distracting you? Maybe thats why so many thoughts come in the shower, because you're not concentrating on so many other things? Human nature certainly is absurd! I quite like it that way, not completely understanding it. Have a great week, my love! X

  42. Wow- these are stunning. We have very similar art tastes! I love the dramatic moodiness and surreal nature of well placed paint splatters and brushstrokes. I think you'd enjoy the app M2M. It's a bit of a different look on fashion and a more artistic perspective.

  43. Stunning works here, Ira. The workings of a human brain and how the human mind perceive and conjures up things and perspective are some things that boggles me, truly! We as human being is such an amazing creature and yet we only use so little of our brain!

Yes, human nature is absurd after all, we are so contradicting in many ways and mysteriously simple in some ways! We can swing between the extremes and that's what make us unique after all. Best to harness the best of our human nature and always choose to spread love instead of pain and sufferings in life for I feel we have too much of the negativity in this world already *_^

Another awesome post! Thanks for sharing, Ira!

  44. What captivating images here and they really seem 'beautifully chaotic' in the way that they are painted here. The last image looks as though it is portraying the soul in deep distress and it's coming right out there on canvas for all to see.

These images certainly make you think! The first image is gorgeous in terms of movement, again you can see the chaos in the human spirit here.

It would be great to see another artist 'answer' his pieces with reflections of peace, sanity and harmony which equally exists in each and ever one of us :) I would really love to see something like that.

Thanks for sharing! Thought provoking post!

  47. Oh Jeann! You always find the right words. I'm glad to be not the only one who cares, dear. The mankind is such a powerful species but still don't know how to use its power!!

Yeah, after all it's our mind which has the power over us. Otherwise we would follow our feral instincts right? I think The Revenant is such a perfect example of that don't you think???
Always a pleasure to talk to you, Jeann. Thank you for being such a wonderful human being!!! <3
    Happy weekend and ;-** ;-**
