This impressive minimalist series of Belgrade's architecture represent the Socialist Modernism or Soc-realism of mid-twentieth century. Wouldn't mind to have a view into the future on my wall, what about you?

  7. Ira, was interesting architecture... I have never seen a building quite like it... it has so many different angles, some sharp, some rounded... it's a building I would always remember... I do like all the windows that gives it great lighting xox

  23. A good friend of mine is from Belgrade, and I am always in awe of the photos taken there---such hardness in the aesthetic, yet very striking. Great inspirational post Ira. Hope you're doing well dear. xx

Many people dislike socrealism and communist arhitecture, but I don't see why. I'm simply crazy about some buildings from this period, there is one neighbourhood in my home town that is simply breath-taking! My old neighbourhood in my opinion is also fantastic. It is amazing how much attention to details can be found there...for example, you can walk all day with a kid, not coming anywhere near a road. The neighbourhoods were build so they allow people to socialize as much as possible..... if you ever visit Split, I'll give you a free tour.:)
