FAME! THE MISFITS OF ACADEMY

Laurent & Larry Bourgeois and Anja Rubik in "Backstage" for Vogue Paris (May, 2014)
styled by the one and only: Emanuelle Alt, photographed by Mario Sorrenti

Hands up, who doesn't like "Fame" from the 80s? No hands up?!
I might have known it.

Dancing is liberating, relaxing and motivating!
There is no other way of getting oneself into a happy mood (AND shape) than to dance
and jumping around like those misfits aka Les Twins at this dance academy studio!
No question I'm a huge fan of Emanuelle Alt's styling talent - she is an icon!
But this time, she surpassed herself... I'm head over heels with the hip hop vibe of
this captivating and impressive editorial!

And doesn't Anja look like a abandoned ballerina doll here?
Makes me wonder, who the REAL misfit of this scenario actually is?

  1. I think dancing is sch a beautiful and fantastic form of art...that I cannot do at all. I'm a horrid dancer! I use to take ballet but I can barely do what they're doing! Wow!

  2. Love these photos! They are great dancers, with a fun, sometimes humorous style. And yes, Anja does look like an abandoned Barbie! I too love dance!!!

this editorial is phenomenal...I love to dance ( I do it at home mostly when nobody is watching).
.and I love seeing dancers perform. Dance is a true art form, people often forget that.
