KEEP TRUE TO YOURSELF

Let's kick it with a confession! Who wants to receive negative (constructive) feedback? To be frank, me! And if you ask me, I'm even grateful for it! I couldn't me happier about each and every person who crossed my way so far since otherwise I wouldn't be there, where I am now. Grateful for each and every discussion with my loved ones and people who even don't know me and judge. These individuals keep me motivated, creative and outgrowing myself constantly! I've been always inspired by them to be the best person I can be even when it meant pushing bounderies. With that said doesn't' the quote 'Don't judge my choices without understanding my reasons' get a whole new meaning? You can't prove anything to people but you can learn from them and keep true to yourself.

As a last point, I really wanna recommend you to check some of my gorgeous fellow blogger ladies who have been true to themselves by talking about other relevant social critical topics and their impressions of that thing called: LIFE!

  1. So true! Criticism can sting at first it can help a whole lot. We're always growing and a big part of that comes from feedback.
Love your look, great layering. :)

  2. Oh, I absolutely love this look, Ira; the sheer maxi top (I'm assuming it is a cape-like top?) beneath the blazer looks absolutely wonderful, and I definitely love myself some constructive criticism. Some of the blogs you've listed are my favourite of all time and they definitely remain on my list because of the fact that they're real. <3

  3. Absolutely with you, Noma! It's important to reflect own attitude and learn from the mistakes instead of beeing ashamed of them - this helps us to grow. Thank you so much for your thoughts! Happy Monday!

  6. Yes, constructive criticism can help you grow, but it took me a while to not take things overly personal and actually filter the message that is important, the one I can learn from.

  8. Sonia at Daring Coco is lovely and has some great insights! :)

I love the outfit in your post - like the mix of textures with all the black to keep it interesting as your outfits always are :)

I think you're right about feedback too - constructive criticism is so helpful for us to grow as people. It's by making mistakes and trying things that we learn after all! :)

  10. If it weren't for the feedback from my friends when I was younger.. I wouldn't be at where I am now. And they still provide valuable opinions and criticisms! :)

For me though, it always depends on how it is framed. I have a thick skin, but if people are just plain rude.. that block/delete button is quickly found! :-P

I am sorry (not sorry) to say, I don't have any negative feedback for you on this photo. You look gorgeous and you are wearing amazing sexy heels, so you win regardless!! :-D

  16. Love the industrial environment with your outfit. Yes, I agree that you should always be true to yourself. I think sometimes bloggers often get lost in the hype and themselves. If you're certain of your decisions and can say that it is all you, & owning every choice expressed, then that's all that matters. This can be applied to fashion as well.

  19. It took me also a while to learn how to deal with critism, Linda! Everthing is so much easier when you filter the message. You can't change the person or prove anything the moment when you accept this is like finding your inner peace. ;) Thanks for your thoughts, Linda!

I love your posts, always stay true to you. I adore your strength and I wish some of it could rub off on me a little. I'd love to say that I can take constructive criticism well but sadly I don't. I think it's just years of conditioning and negativity from loved ones that has me this way. That said I can take it easier from stranger than those I know well.

  57. Oh this warms my heart more than you know, Ira.

Today was so damn hectic trying to dive head first into this whole youtube/vlogmas thing. Everything that could possibly go wrong, did, and I had a mini-breakdown that included a lot of thoughts such as "why the hell do I even do this?! what's the point?!" and some feelings of inadequacy/failure. But then I get lovely comments of support from wonderful people like you & the encouragement gives me serious motivation to keep moving forward. I really needed to hear kind words today, so I cannot thank you enough for including me in this list!
