Andy Warhol was quite the visionary. I don't know if everyone will actually get their 15 minutes but it definitely doesn't stop people from trying haha.
I think he was very smart using images that were so ordinary yet famous in their own right as art. Great video and I love the new design! ~Lili www.thefashionsalt.com
This is so interesting. I don't think I've ever watched or heard him speak before. There's something about his presence that is rather mesmerising isn't there. Also LOL'ed at the "inspiration" behind the Campbell's can. Damn. Think I can become uber famous by painting my fave packet of potato chips? ;o)
He is such an inspiration!! This is the very first time to watch him and hear him speak and I wanna hear more. His energy is contagious in the best way. Great post hun!! www.fashionstylemogul.com
Andy Warhol is such an enigmatic character, who really changed art scene of the world. ts so strange to hear him speak. I've always thought him as Bill Hader from Men In Black 3 to be quite honest. Hahaha <3
I like Warhol's art. The early one, that is. He was truly the pope of pop art. Unfortunately or better sadly enough later in life he became more a business painter than standing up to his role as pope of pop art, if you know what I mean. Yes or No? No, because the original quote is by H.M. McLuhan.Happy Friday, Ira. xox Lenya
He's a divisive character, but I admire his work ethic. He was a brilliant marketer. He knew people and he definitely knew his audience. Whether we like it or not, a lot of the famous artists were not only talented, but were fantastic salespeople (selling an image of who they are and their aesthetic).
I think Warhol had talent, but what pushed him over the edge was cleverness. He had a way with the media. I wish the less socially proficient, talented artists, would rise to prominence in their lifetime, but that's a much rare case.
I think Warhol has a captivating personality and it's really fascinating to watch him talk. I really enjoy his play with the publicity. It's kinda, people hear what they want to hear. :)
Haha! Just do it, Sonia! Art has no limits so feel free to let it go. ;) He reminds me a bit of Karl Lagerfeld - both people who are hiding behind their appearence. Thank you for watching, Sonia!
I know what you mean, Lenya! Maybe he was influenced too much by the famous people surround him... We'll never know the reasons but his earlier work will always be formative. Thank you for the wonderful feedback!!! <3 Have a fabulous week ahead, dear!
Absolutely with you, Nataliya! It's about the right time and the right place, don't you think. He certainly moved a whole generation with his (thought-)provoking artworks. Agree with you on last point, the superstars surround him were a blessing and curse at the same time. Sad but true! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Nataliya!
